           The Belum Caves is the largest and longest cave system open to the public on the Indian subcontinent known for its spelotherms such as STALACTITES AND STALAGMITES formations ... 
      This cave system was formed over the course of tens of thousands of years by the constant flow of underground water from the now - disappeared river called CHITRAVATHI .. Belum Caves have a length of 3229 mts (10593.8) ft  making the 2nd largest cave in Indian subcontinent ....

LOCATION:-
         These caves are located near BELUM village in KOLIMIGUNDLE MANDAL of KURNOOL DISTRICT in the state of Andhra Pradesh ... Belum is a part of a layer complex of caves carved out of the limestone deposit in the ERRAMALAI region ... Belum Caves was invented by R.B.FOOTE in 1884 ...
