Tamil Nadu and Puducherry :-
It ran up was only 1.6 mts (5ft 3in) in areas in the state of Tamil Nadu shielded by the island of Srilanka but was 4 to 5 mts in coastal districts such as Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu directly across the Sumatra. Height of Tsunami from 2-10 mts based on survivor accounts
Worst affected area is Nagapattinam (16 ft) followed by Cuddalore District ...
